Deep tree viewing experiments
This page describes some experiments with "deep tree viewing", that is, using a Google Maps-style interface to browse very large trees. For more background see my blog post Deep zooming a large 2D tree.
Demos
- Experiment 1: a simple viewer showing NCBI classification for frogs (Anura)
- Experiment 2: a simple viewer showing NCBI classification for wasps, bees, and ants (Hymenoptera)
- Experiment 3: a simple viewer showing NCBI classification for frogs, with clickable labels and Wikipedia image display
- Experiment 6: adds ability to go to named node in tree
- Experiment 7: "live" map showing georeferenced sequences for taxa currently shown in tree
